About Us
Capture The Wild Taxidermy is a full service taxidermy studio that goes above and beyond what the average taxidermist offers. We are hunters and fishermen who observe the animals in their native habitat. Along with your photos and/or video, we capture the animal exactly as it lived and provide you with an award winning piece.
Who We Are
Steve Minckley, owner of Capture The Wild Taxidermy, is a graduate from the Colorado Institute of Taxidermy in 2005, and is a fully certified taxidermist. He has won awards in fish and birds with the Colorado Taxidermist's Association. Additionally, he has won awards in life size mammals, shoulder mounts, and art.
Steve has work on display at Colorado Parks and Wildlife nature centers where he proudly donates his time to professionally clean and inspect their exhibits. Steve has recently started working with Barry Smith ( a skilled and experienced taxidermist of 40+ years) to gain some of his knowledge before his retirement.

and we will walk you through the process.
